Edge Glow

From 3.10DrawingDrawing & EdgeEdgeNeonRaster

Detects edges in a photo or video and creates a glow around them.

Properties
Smoothing

Smoothing factor applied when detecting edges. Decrease this for more detail, increase this for less detail.

Range: 1 to 10; Default: 5
Threshold

Controls the sensitivity of the edge detection. Increase this for fewer edges, decrease for more edges.

Range: 0 to 1; Default: 0.7
Invert

Turn this on to invert edge detection (glows will come from areas without edges). This works best with high values of Smoothing or low values of Threshold.

Default: off
Blur

Controls how soft the glow is and far it extends from edges.

Range: 0 to 2; Default: 0.1
Spread

Controls the size of the solid core of the glow. Higher values result in a core that spreads out further from each edge before falling off.

Range: 0 to 3; Default: 1.5
Color

A color to use instead of the original pixel color when rendering the glow.

Default:
Blend

Controls the color of the glow. At 0% the original pixel color is used; at 100% the Color property is used. Values in between mix the original pixel color and glow color proportionally. The final mixed color is blended on top of the layer using the Screen blending mode.

Range: 0% to 200%; Default: 0%
Gamma

A gamma correction to apply to the original layer content before compositing the glow into the layer. This can be useful for accenting the glowing edges by making the rest of the layer darker.

Range: 0.01 to 9.99; Default: 1
Brightness

A linear brightness adjustment to apply to the original layer content before compositing the glow into the layer. This can be useful for accenting the glowing edges by making the rest of the layer darker.

Range: -100% to +100%; Default: +0%
Tint Color

A color to be overlaid on top of the original layer before compositing the glow into the layer.

Default:
Tint

The amount of the Tint Color that is composited into the layer. At 0% the tint color is not visible, and at 100% the tint color completely covers the layer, so that only the glowing edges are visible.

Range: 0% to 100%; Default: 0%

Usage

Apply Edge Glow to any photo or video layer. Start by adjusting Threshold and Smoothing to tune the edge detection, then adjust the other parameters to define the glow.
